SAVOURY PUFFS - A savoury choux pastry snack. Everyone willl devour these.
1/4 cup margerine
1/2 cup water
1/2 tsp. OXO Chicken-flavoured powder
1/2 tsp. dried dill weed
1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/2 cup flour
In a saucepan, heat margerine, water and seasonings over medium heat until margerine melts. Stir in flour and continue stirring vigorously until the dough comes away from the sides of the pan, and is smooth and elastic.
Remove from heat and let cool for 5 minutes. Add the eggs one at a time, beating dough well with an electric mixer, or VERY vigorously with a whisk.
With a 1/2 inch tip, pipe small 1 tsp-sized balls onto a lightly greased cookie sheet, OR you can spoon tiny amounts onto the cookie sheet with a small spon. You can shape the puffs a bit by using fingers that have been wet with water.
Bake at 375 degrees F. for 20 minutes.
Serve warm. They can be frozen for several weeks, and re-heated at 350 degrees F. for 8 - 10 minutes.
